Now you can access AncestryLibrary from home with your library card! AncestryLibrary has temporarily expanded their offerings in light of the pandemic and closures of libraries so that patrons may access the database from home. What’s my PIN number? When you get your library card the last 4 digits of your phone number is your PIN number.

You can also access HeritageQuest and MyHeritage Library Edition from home too!

As a Georgetown Peabody Library and MVLC member library card holder, you may access high-quality local, state, and regionally funded online resources of full-text periodicals, health and business resources, biographical and literary databases, as well as general research resources available online in the library or from home.  Home access to online resources is possible by inputting your 14-digit public library barcode number.

RMV Practice Tests

The Georgetown Peabody Library has partnered with driving-tests.org to provide patrons with free, ad-free, and registration-free Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) practice tests for car, motorcycle, and commercial vehicle licenses. Perfect for the learner’s permit test, driver’s license test, and refresher test for seniors.

Test Preparation

Learning Express Library offers practice tests and tutorials designed for students elementary through graduate levels and adult learners. Academic or licensing tests are available, with immediate scoring, complete answer explanations, and individualized results analysis.

LEGO Challenge

We are running a weekly LEGO Challenge!
This weeks challenge is:

Take a picture of it and send it to cdewitt@georgetownpl.org by Sunday 4/19. If you don’t have LEGO’s at home feel free to build a creation with any materials you do have. The pictures will be posted on Facebook along with next weeks challenge on Monday 4/20.  This program is for all ages.

Library Closed

Per the direction of the Board of Library Trustees and the Town of Georgetown, the Georgetown Peabody Library will be closed to the public as of Monday, March 16 until further notice. For the most up-to-date information on the COVID-19 Coronavirus in Massachusetts, please visit the Town of Georgetown’s website and the Massachusetts Department of Health website

Delivery of library materials has also been suspended by the state. The Library will be investigating if it is possible to provide some limited services while protecting our patrons and staff and minimizing the risk of spreading the COVID 19 virus. Please check our website for updates in this regard.

We ask patrons to hold onto their items and not return them in our book drop. Staff will not be in the building to empty the book drops! All items have been renewed so that they will not be due until we re-open. Remember that our library does not charge fines for overdue materials!

While we are closed, patrons will always have access to our online resources. Home access to online resources is possible by inputting your 14-digit public library barcode number.
