New MVLC Mobile App!

The new MVLC Mobile App is now available! Download in the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. 

iPhone users who already have the previous app installed can go to the App Store and simply update the app to download the new version. Android users who have the previous app on their devices will need to uninstall the old app and then go to the app store to download the new one.

We sincerely thank you again for your patience during this time since the SirsiDynix version of MVLC Mobile stopped functioning. We are excited to offer this new app from Communico!

17th Annual Bruins PJ Drive

Starting on February 2 through February 24, the Library will be collecting new pajamas from sizes 0-3 months through adult medium. Please do not give pajamas that include any family or holiday references.  The drop box will be in the library lobby.

Cradles to Crayons®, the Boston Bruins, Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, and Wonderfund are coming together with organizations in your community to collect new pajamas for local children living in low-income and homeless situations. 

The most needed sizes are:

  • Girls: 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2T, 3T, 5/6 (child S), 7/8 (child M), 14/16 (child XL/adult S), 18/20 (child XXL/adult M)
  • Boys: 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 5/6 (child S), 7/8 (child M), 10/12 (child L), 14/16 (child XL/adult S), 18/20 (child XXL/adult M)

Georgetown’s Got Talent! (Local Author Event)

On Saturday, February 10 at 10AM, come meet authors from Georgetown and nearby! Authors will talk about and sell their books during this event. Hosted by the Friends of the Georgetown Peabody Library. Refreshments will be served.

2023 State, Federal Tax Forms

The Georgetown Peabody Library has copies of the 2023 MA Tax Booklet (Form 1) available at the Circulation Desk. Please note, we do not receive federal income tax forms.

On January 8, the IRS announced that the 2023 tax filing season would begin on January 29. Most IRS tax forms, instructions and publications will be available electronically on IRS.gov.

The filing deadline to submit 2023 tax returns is Wednesday, April 17, 2024. Taxpayers requesting an extension will have until Wednesday, October 15, 2024 to file.

You can save paper by filing your state and federal returns online. The IRS and MA Department of Revenue both offer secure portal options at:

Library staff are not able to provide tax advice or assistance, but free help is available (by appointment) at the Georgetown Senior Center from February through April. Preference is given to seniors and other moderate-income individuals.
