Virtual: Funeral Planning

Please join us on Thursday, November 9 at 7PM for an in depth conversation and Q&A session with funeral director and former funeral home owner, Rick Dewhirst.

After leaving the traditional model of reactive funeral care, Rick Dewhirst embarked on a more proactive form of funeral education and practice – one that can help individuals, couples, and organizations with navigating the often confusing and emotionally laden world of funeral planning. His goal and the purpose of this presentation is to help illuminate the many options and choices we all have and to ease the process and often difficult experience of providing ourselves and loved ones a meaningful, sensible, and cost effective funeral plan.

Good Luck Kyle!

Our Teen Librarian, Kyle Coston, has accepted a position at the Somerville Public Library. His last day in Georgetown will be on Saturday, October 28.

We welcome the Georgetown community to come into the library on Friday, October 27 or Saturday, October 28 to say their farewells and congratulate Kyle on his new position.

Kyle reinvigorated our teen programming with offerings of Dungeons & Dragons, monthly craft opportunities, gaming on our Switch, de-stress with dogs, and more. Kyle was awarded an ‘Awesome Georgetown’ grant in which he put together a book wagon that librarians can bring to the schools and other events in town to promote the library.

The staff, the Friends, and the Trustees all wish him the best in his new job and thank him for all that he has done.
