Friends of the Library
Who We Are
The Friends of the Georgetown Peabody Library, Inc. is a non-profit 501c3 corporation whose purpose is to support and cooperate with the library in developing library services and facilities for the community, and to stimulate public support and community involvement on behalf of the library. The Friends of the Georgetown Peabody Library is a registered charity with the Massachusetts State Attorney General’s Office.
What We Do
The Friends provide one-time funding for special projects, such as the library tiles and furnishings for the Community Room, as well as a dependable source of support for:
- free and reduced-price admission museum passes
- educational and cultural programs for children, teens, and adults
- additions to the print, electronic, and audiovisual collections of the library
- the Summer Reading Program

- Individual Membership – $10
- Family Membership – $15
- Senior/Student Membership – $5

The Friends generally meet on the 1st Tuesday of the month, 6:30 PM at the Library. All are welcome. Check out the minutes from previous meetings here.

March 17: 10 AM – 5 PM (Opening Day)
March 18: 9 AM – 1 PM (Children’s Day; Buy 2, get 1 free)
March 20: 2 PM – 6 PM (Senior Day; Bag Sale) Coffee and muffins will be available!

Come take a look at the Book Nook. It’s to the left of the Circulation Desk at the Library. You’ll find gently used and nearly new books on sale at very reasonable prices. The Friends take great care on updating the Book Nook with any donations that are brought in so come stop by.
