Lecture 5: Listening, Theory of the Solo
Boxford Cable Access Television and blues musician Charlie Sawyer, who wrote “The Arrival of B.B. King,” are presenting a series of evening concerts and lectures at local libraries to explore the blues.
In his talks, Sawyer will present a condensed version of his History of Blues in America, a semester-long course he taught at Harvard Extension School for 11 years. His band, 2120 South Michigan Avenue, will be one of the featured performers in the series.
The concerts and talks are free, and all area residents are invited to attend.
