2026 Summer Take and Make Kits

Don’t have time to stay for a program, but don’t want to miss out on the summer fun? No worries! Come by and grab one of our Take & Make craft kits made for you to take home with you. There will be no registration to reserve a take and make kit. The kits will be available first come, first serve each week starting on Tuesday.

These take and make kits were made possible by the Friends of the Georgetown Peabody Library.

06/23/26: Basil in Painted Flower Pots (for all ages)

Bring some herbs and art to your kitchen this summer! Each kit will have easy growing basil seeds to plant in your own terracotta pot. Acrylic paint pen included to add your own personalized touch!

06/30/26: Cross Stitch (for teens and adults only)

Welcome to the art of cross stitch! This beginner- friendly kit will have all the tools you need to create a wonderful hanging art piece to celebrate the beginning of summer.

06/30/26:  DIY Zine Kit (for kids only)

07/07/26: SeedCakes (for all ages)

These “SeedCakes” made of bird seed and pectin are so simple! Making these is only half the fun – watching the birds that will come and snack on the seedcake is the other half!

07/14/26: Painted Rock Garden Markers (for all ages)

A new twist on rock painting – personalize your garden with colorful hand painted garden markers!

07/21/26: Macrame Plant Holder(for teens and adults only)

Give your favorite houseplant a new look!  We’ll be using the art of macrame to create plant hangers to bring  a bit of green into your home in a natural, trendy but retro way.

Capture a piece of nature on a magnet to bring some botanical beauty to your indoor space! 

08/04/26: Air Dry Clay Frogs (for all ages)

Embrace the beauty of summer flowers by creating your own flower frog out of air dry clay to make beautiful floral arrangements.

08/11/26: Sunprints (for all ages)

Nature’s photography!  Using different and interesting items, along with printed stencils and the photo-sensitive paper in the kit, you can make an original sun print to capture summer.
