Good Luck Emily!

Our Teen Librarian, Emily Havey, has accepted the position of Teen Librarian at the Tewksbury Public Library. Her last day in Georgetown will be on Saturday, September 28. We welcome the Georgetown community to come into the library on Friday, September 27 and Saturday, September 28 to say their farewells and congratulate Emily on her new position.

Emily has been a crucial part of our library for the past four years. Her commitment to both Georgetown’s middle school and high school students is outstanding. She has a great core group of teens that visit and hang out in the Teen Room each day that it is open. Thanks to Emily, the library recently completed a two-year federal Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant from the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners (MBLC) called “Serving Tweens and Teens”. With that grant, Emily increased teen programming and improved the teen collection by adding video games, board games that we now circulate, audio books, and anime DVDs.

The staff, the Friends, and the Trustees all wish her the best in her new job and thank her for all that she has done.
