Schedule for Young Adult Summer Reading Programs
Grades 6 and up
Wed 6/29 4-6pm Black out and Ransom note poetry
Black out poetry uses a marker to black out words so that you can make a poem with the words in an article. More details on the website.
Wed 7/6 4-6pm Duct tape craft day
Drop in and create a wallet or rose or any other craft that you would like to try.
Fri 7/8 3-5pm Create a Narwhal craft day
We will use fabric and cotton stuffing to make different and unique items including the Narwhal as well as Guatemalan worry dolls.
Week of July 11 – 15th Harry Potter Scavenger Hunt at the Library
For the whole week there will be clues left through out the library relating to the Harry Potter books and movies. Be the first to get all the clues!!!

Take our fun quiz on the Harry Potter Books. Win an extra chance at winning the UK version of the “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” by answering 100% correctly.
The scavenger Hunt list will be posted at 6pm on Monday July 11th! Items can be brought to the library after you have completed the hunt.
Wed 7/13 Harry Potter Movie Day
–2:00pm Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone
–6:00pm Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1
Can’t wait for the last movie? Come and
watch one or both movies. Dress up like your
favorite wizard. There will be Harry Potter trivia and fun in between the movies.
Fri 7/15 *3-5pm Artist Trading Cards* Cancelled due to staff illness
Come make artist trading cards based on your favorite stories or books.
Wed 7/20 6:45-7:45 Wingmasters
Native American artifacts and four live birds of prey will be part of the program.

Fri 7/22 3-5pm Star wars craft day
Come make some cool and amazing crafts based on the out of this world experience of Star Wars.
July 25-29th The Harry Potter Scavenger Hunt at the Library continues
For the whole week there will be clues left through out the library relating to the Harry Potter books and movies. Be the first to get all the clues!
The second part of the Scavenger hunt will start at 6pm on Monday July 25th. Follow the clues to find the items that are hidden in the library. Use a camera to take pictures of each item as they need to stay where you find them

Fri 7/27 3-5pm Bocce day
Come and learn about bocce and how to play. This will mainly be held outside, weather permitting.
Mon 8/1 to Fri 8/5 Library Quiz week
Throughout the week find the answers to different questions by using your library skills. The quiz will be posted on Monday at 6pm.
The person who answers the most questions correctly will be entered in a drawing for a prize!
Wed 8/3 6:45 PM Fencing Demonstration *Ages 6 and up*
Originally used as practice for dueling and
battle, fencing is now an Olympic sport. Come learn more about fencing and watch nationally ranked students from 3MB Fencing Club demonstrate how it is done.
Fri 8/5 3-5pm Make your own button
Make buttons with text from old books and quotes from favorite books and artwork from stories, newspapers, and magazines.
Limited to 5 buttons per person!
Mon 8/8 to Fri 8/12 Book Swap Week
Bring in an old book that you enjoyed (or hated) and trade for one here. Books have to be in good condition and appropriate age range.
Fri 8/12 Book Swap day 3-5pm
Wrap up our summer reading programs by talking with others about your favorite titles and trade books with them.
