Join media historian Donna Halper on Saturday, February 28 at 11:30 am as she discusses the history of radio, focusing on the North Shore: what would people in Georgetown have listened to in radio’s early days? And as time passed, who were the favorite announcers, and what were the favorite stations?
Dr. Halper will also discuss why radio changed, and why some listeners believe the programs were better years ago. In addition to her talk, she will bring some rare artifacts, including old radio magazines and memorabilia from the stations you may have grown up listening to.
The talk will run from 11:30 to 1:00 pm in the library’s Meeting Room. Registration is recommended. Please call the library (978-352-5728) or come in to register.
