Prune-A-Palooza! Pruning and Woody Vines Workshop

MA Certified Horticulturist Jen Kettell returns to present 2 programs back to back: Introduction to Pruning and Woody Vines.
10am-11am Introduction to Pruning slide presentation
11am-noonish Interactive Pruning Demo outdoors (+ short break)
12pm-1pm Woody Vines slide presentation
PLEASE NOTE: attendees are welcome to come to any one, two or all three hours of this program. You may attend just the slide presentations, just the outdoor pruning demonstration, or any combination. Attendance for all three hours is NOT required!
Introduction to Pruning is a 60 minute indoor slide presentation followed by an interactive outdoor demonstration. In this pruning primer attendees will learn about pruning objectives, appropriate tools and personal protective gear, pruning techniques, timing, and where to seek additional resources.
After a quick break Jen will follow up with the 60 minute indoor slide presentation Woody Vines. In this presentation Jen will introduce attendees to woody vines for the garden – the twining, winding plants that send cascades of blossoms over stone walls, trellises, and fences.
Jen Kettell is a certified arborist and horticulturist serving the New England area. For more than a decade, she worked as a staff horticulturist at Harvard University’s Arnold Arboretum. Now she shares her passion for teaching horticulture through the training she provides to both homeowners and green industry professionals. She is a guest lecturer and trainer at the University of Massachusetts, MA Department of Conservation and Recreation, New England Wildflower Society, and the Arnold Arboretum.
