2013 Teen Library Survey

Hey teens, tell us what you think about the library and what types of programs we should offer! Paper surveys will be available at the Main Desk. Fill out the survey and be entered to win an Orange Leaf gift certificate!!

The survey is open to teens in grades 6 -12. If you have any questions, please ask the librarian at the Main Desk.

Paint a Pumpkin Contest

Rather than carving jack-o’-lanterns this Halloween, break with tradition and paint your pumpkins instead. We will provide the paint, decorations, and various accessories to design your own Jack-o’-Lantern. The most creative design, as judged by staff members, will win a $25 gift certificate to www.amazon.com

Mon 8/1 to Fri 8/5 Library Quiz week

Throughout the week find the answers to different questions by using your library skills. The quiz will be posted on Monday at 6pm.

The person who answers the most questions correctly will be entered in a drawing for a prize!

Wed 8/3 6:45 PM Fencing Demonstration *AGES 6 AND UP*

Originally used as practice for dueling and
battle, fencing is now an Olympic sport. Come learn more about fencing and watch nationally ranked students from 3MB Fencing Club demonstrate how it is done.

Fri 8/5 3-5pm Make your own button

Make buttons with text from old books and quotes from favorite books and artwork from stories, newspapers, and magazines.
Limited to 5 buttons per person!

Young Adult Programs July 25-29th (grades 6 and up)

The Harry Potter Scavenger Hunt at the Library continues

For the whole week there will be clues left through out the library relating to the Harry Potter books and movies. Be the first to get all the clues!

The second part of the Scavenger hunt will start at 6pm on Monday July 25th. Follow the clues to find the items that are hidden in the library. Use a camera to take pictures of each item as they need to stay where you find them

Take our fun quiz on the Harry Potter Books. Win an extra chance at winning the UK version of the “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” by answering 100% correctly.

Fri 7/27 3-5pm Bocce day

Come and learn about bocce and how to play. This will mainly be held outside, weather permitting.
If it is raining we will have a craft set up inside.

Come make some cool and amazing crafts based on the out of this world experience of Star Wars. Grades 6 and up.

We also wanted to let it be known that the Harry Potter Scavenger Hunt will continue starting at 6pm on Monday July 25th.

Details to be posted on Monday but this part of the scavenger hunt will take part in the library

Henna Bodyart workshop, June 14 th 4-6pm!

Henna tattoo

Limited to 20 participants
This workshop includes and education on the different types of Henna throughout the
world as well as a demonstration on how to apply Henna and some sampling of the semi-permanent tattoos. Tattoo’s last for about two weeks and vanish over time.
For students entering grade 7-12 for next year.
