College Planning

Jim Femia, a Certified College Planning Specialist and a member of the National Institute of Certified College Planners (NICCP), will discuss financial aid solutions on Wednesday, September 23 at 7 PM that will benefit both parents and students.

The following topics will be covered:

¨ How families of all income levels are receiving financial aid
¨ Why some families incorrectly assume they could never qualify for aid
¨ Which college gives you the best financial aid packages
¨ Learn how to avoid costly mistakes on the FAFSA and CSS Profile

Swords through the Ages

Join us at the library on for an amazing sword presentation by Jeff Goodhind and Jeff Lord from the Association for Renaissance and Medieval Swordsmanship. They’ll demonstrate the art of Western European swordsmanship over the centuries.

Our Summer Reading Programs for kids and teens are starting very soon!

Every Hero Has A Story is the theme for the Children’s Summer Reading Program. Sign ups for Georgetown kids start on Monday, June 15. Check out the summer program schedule for kids here for all the fun events going on at the library over the summer!

Yoga for Teens

Join Dale Sampson as she teaches poses, breathing practices, and some meditation techniques to help you maneuver the stresses in your life!

Teen Writing Workshop

erinAre you a young, aspiring writer? Looking for some tips on publishing, critiques on your work, or more? Join YA author Erin Bowman (author of the Taken trilogy) for a hour-long writing workshop! The workshop will take place at the library on Mon., Sept. 8 at 3 PM.

Attendees should bring their own writing tools (laptop, journal and pencil, etc), and arrive prepared to write!

 Workshop is open to registrants ages 13-22.  Registration is REQUIRED as space is limited!
