The Spot Fundraiser – Wed., Oct. 18

Enjoy a night out at The Spot and help support the Friends of the Georgetown Peabody Library on Wednesday, October 18 from 5-10 pm. 

The Spot will donate 10% of their proceeds from food ordered in the restaurant or for takeout to the Friends. Spot customers will also have the opportunity to join the Friends for $5! An annual individual membership to the Friends is $10.

Make sure to print this flyer or grab one at the library! Guests are required to show this flyer or pull up the flyer on their smartphone to show to their server/bartender.

Proceeds help the Friends purchase the library’s museum passes as well as support the summer reading programs.

 

Friends Flatbread Fundraiser – Tuesday, May 30

The Friends of the Georgetown Peabody Library are hosting a fundraiser at the Flatbread Pizza Company at the Black Swan Country Club in Georgetown, MA.
The fundraiser will take place on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 from 5 PM to 9 PM.
 
For each pizza sold – in the restaurant or as take-out – Flatbread Pizza will generously donate a portion of the proceeds to the Friends of the Georgetown Peabody Library. 

Books in Bloom – Saturday, April 29

The Friends of the Georgetown Peabody Library are hosting a “Books in Bloom” fundraising event on Saturday, April 29, from 6:30 – 9:00 pm. Enjoy a spectacular display of floral arrangements by local floral designers inspired by favorite literary works. Many displays will be available for raffle. Proceeds benefit library programming and museum passes.

2017 Friends Spring Book Sale

The Friends of the Georgetown Peabody Library will be having their Spring Book Sale starting Friday, March 17 through Monday, March 20

Friday, March 17 from 10 AM to 5 PM

Saturday, March 18 from 9 AM to 1 PM
Buy 1 book, get 2 books free

Monday, March 20 from 2 PM to 6 PM – Senior Day and Bag Sale!
Coffee and muffins will be available!

There will be a wide variety of hardcover and paperback books available.

We do accept book and media donations year-round, but this would be a great time to bring your donations to the library! Books should be gently used, clean, and free from mold.

We cannot accept phone books, encyclopedias, outdated computer manuals, Readers Digests, or VHS tapes.

Museum Passes

The Friends of the Georgetown Peabody Library generously provides funding for the museum pass program. These passes allow free or reduced admission to some of the Boston area’s most popular institutions.

Friends of the Library Raffle Winners

Congratulations to all!

The beautiful blue quilt, crafted by the Merrimack Valley Quilters, which has been on display in our library this past year, has found a lucky winner to bring it home.  Congratulations to Calvin Watson!  May it bring you much warmth and joy.

The whimsical book birdhouses, created by Gloria Swanbon, were on display during the annual Book Sale week and drew a lot of interest.  Congratulations to the following winners:

2015 Friends Book Sale & Craft Fair

It’s time for the Friends of the Georgetown Peabody Library’s annual book sale, when we
clear out all the books we’ve been saving year round – just for this event!

Everything must go!

Friday, Sept. 18 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm
Special promotion on Friday night, join the Friends and get 5 books free!
Saturday, Sept. 19 from 10 am to 2 pm
Sunday, Sept. 20 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm

There will be a bag sale on Monday afternoon. Books will be sold for $3.00 a bag.

There will be a wide variety of hardcover and paperback books available.
Prices range from 25 cents to $2.

Craft Fair will be held on Saturday, Sept. 19 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm

Spring cleaning? Looking to donate your books to the library? The Georgetown Peabody Library and the Friends of the Library are glad to accept donations for our Book Nook and our book sales. They help us to support programming and museum passes.

• Books should be gently used, clean, and free from mold.

• We cannot accept phone books, encyclopedias, outdated computer manuals, Readers Digests, or VHS tapes. Please take those to one of the many recycling facilities in town.
