Happy Retirement, Claire!

After 35 years of outstanding service and dedication, Claire Spirito, our Senior Library Technician at the Circulation Desk, will be retiring.  We welcome the Georgetown community to join us on Friday, November 16 at the library to congratulate Claire and wish her well on the next chapter in her life.  Cake and refreshments will be served from 12-2 PM.

A key part of our staff, Claire embodies the heart and soul of the Georgetown Peabody Library and is a welcome and familiar face to all who visit. Every day, Claire’s smile and wit makes our patrons feel welcome and her naturally cheerful way of helping puts everyone at ease when visiting the library.  Claire is the voice behind the phone call, the one who knows not only your name but your library card number and is willing to teach you a fun way to remember it.  She is the epitome of calm in our occasionally hectic library and is always ready to listen, to make you laugh, to suggest the next great (nonfiction) read, and keep you connected to what’s happening in the Georgetown community.

The GPL staff will greatly miss working alongside her, but wish Claire the best and look forward to seeing her often!
