Winter Coat Drive
With fall in full swing, we are coming up upon the holiday season of giving to others. We will also be encountering the unforgiving winter cold soon. Selectman Joseph Bonavita is partnering with Melissa Gilbo at Georgetown Insurance to have a winter coat drive to help those less fortunate that don’t have good winter coats to stay warm. The collection of both new and used coats will be for all sizes as we will be disbursing the garments to different charities with needs for children and adults. Coats should be clean and gently used if not new.
Drop boxes will be locally located at the Georgetown Peabody Library, Georgetown Insurance, and CrossFit 133. The library will be accepting coats starting Wednesday, October 3 until the middle of November. The library’s drop box will be located in the main entrance lobby. As you look into your closets and find some coats that have been sitting for a while because the kids grew out of them, or if you have adult coats that just aren’t worn any longer, we ask you to drop them off because there is someone out there that you could be helping to stay warm these upcoming winter months.
